We held a cherry blossom viewing party! It's Japanese "Ohanami"!!
Prof. Yamagishi's favorite spot for cherry blossoms
We enjoyed!
Oh! Group gymnastics!

We participated in the 74th Hokuriku Branch Meeting of the Society of Polymer Science, Japan, held at Ikarashi Campus, Niigata University. In addition to the invited lecture by Prof. Yamagishi, oral presentations were given by M1 student Ruki Matsuda, M2 student Taketoshi Kato, and M2 student Yuhei Takemoto. Mr. Takemoto received the Outstanding Research Award. Congratulations!
Congratulations on receiving the Outstanding Research Award!
Here is an overview of the equipment and measuring instruments used in our laboratory.
An instrument for measuring absorption spectra of solutions, films, and powders. It is equipped with accessories for temperature-controlled measurements and linear polarization measurements.
An instrument for evaluating fluorescence properties. It can also be used for temperature-controlled measurements, measurements of powders and films, and simple phosphorescence measurements.
An instrument that simultaneously measures weight change and thermal change during heating. Measurements can be carried out under both air and nitrogen atmospheres.
An instrument used to investigate thermal transitions and phase changes.
Used to evaluate molecular weights of polymers. Both THF- and DMF-based systems are available, and depending on the column, both normal-phase and reversed-phase operation are possible. Detection is carried out by UV and RI detectors.
An instrument for separation and purification of compounds. It is operated in normal phase and allows recycling separation with UV and RI detection.
An instrument for evaluating surface wettability.
An instrument for measuring the optical properties of chiral molecules and structures. Temperature-controlled measurements and film measurements are also possible.
An instrument for observing fine surface structures. Measurements can be performed in air and in liquid. Elastic modulus mapping is also available.
An instrument for evaluating the mechanical properties of materials.
A system that extracts and irradiates specific wavelengths using optical filters. It is equipped with a 300 W xenon light source and can provide light from the ultraviolet to visible region.
A machine for sample molding and press processing.
We will post photos from lectures, seminars, and guest lectures.
